Borg L-Gharib consists of two groups of megaliths that might have formed one monument originally. The larger megaliths form the south-eastern boundary of a raised field, at some points up to three metres in height. The western group (seen in the photograph above) are more scattered and line the northern edge of a plateau not far from the Ghajnsielem - Qala road.
The excavation of a temple period hut around four hundred metres away from the megalithic remains in the late eighties confirms that this area was chosen as a settlement site in this period.
